The Istanbul Salipazari Port Area project, mainly known as the Galataport, is expected to bring an important increase of the number of cruise liners and an important profit for the new cruise port of Istanbul that will be modernized. This project means building and developing hotels, restaurants, bars, souvenir shops, shopping centers, office and fair spaces, parking areas etc.

The main goal of this project is to increase the profitability of this port and to offer a nice experience to the visitors and tourists.

This area in Istanbul is very important for cruise tourism in Istanbul, because it is the only entrance for cruise ships in this city, said the project partner Serdar Bilgili. He promised that the project will not include large buildings and the space will be open for walking in order for local citizens and tourists to admire the landscape. The old buildings will be restored and new ones will be built near an urban park and other green areas.

The new port area will have a 1,200 meters long coastline and a surface of 100,000 square meters. This area of Istanbul was privatized to two companies that paid $ 702 million and they will operate it for the next 30 years.
