Turkish New Black Sea Airport to Become Operational in 2020

During the last 10 years, the government has built several new airports connecting various parts of the country, however these cannot take up all the air traffic. The new Turkish airport to host large commercial flights

The airport to be built in the Bayburt region and will connect cities in both this and the Gumushane region will be one of the largest in the country, as it will have a capacity of 2 million passengers on a yearly basis. Also, it will be large enough to allow the landing of large planes destined to commercial flights, but also to charter ones. The airport will have no less than 6 runways.

According to officials, the construction of the airport should be completed by 2020 and will bear a total cost of 73 million USD or 285 million Turkish liras.

The new airport is part of a plan consisting in several projects
