Turkey and Germany to Cooperate on New Energy Projects

Turkey and Germany have good trading relations, which is why representatives of the two governments decided for cooperation in the energy field. During a forum held in Ankara, the ministers for energy of Turkey and Germany signed an agreement related to the development of several energy projects. Germany has invested approximately 25 billion euros in the Turkish energy sector
The cooperation on more energy projects between Turkey and Germany comes as a result of earlier investments of German companies which have invested around 25 billion euros and created more than 15,000 jobs in the last 15 years in Turkey.
These investments are expected to continue under the agreement signed at the end of October 2018 and show the confidence of German investors in the Turkish economy. Moreover, the new projects will also provide new investment possibilities of Turkish investors in Germany and thus encouraging further bilateral relations between the two countries, but also joint projects which would be carried out in other countries.

More than 7,000 German companies operate in Turkey

Last year, the trading volumes between the two countries stood at 36.4 billion USD, 2.7% higher than in 2016. Among the most exported products to Germany are automobiles, auto vehicles spare parts and medicines.
